Sounds kinda scary to me, but I guess some folks like that. All that fancy stuff adds to the price, though. You want somethin’ special, you gotta pay extra. That’s just how it is. Just like my old sewing machine. The one with all the extra stitches, it cost more than the plain one.

They say these lifts come in different sizes. Small ones for just one or two people, and bigger ones that can carry a whole bunch. If you got a big family, or you like to have folks over, I guess you’d need a bigger one. And if you are in India, you can find all sizes. But if you just need it for yourself, a little one will probably do just fine. And it’ll probably cost less, too. They even got ones that use different kinds of power. Some run on ‘lectricity, others use some kind of oil, I think they said. Sounds complicated. I just stick to my oil lamp, myself.

And don’t forget about gettin’ it put in! You can’t just plop it down in your livin’ room. They gotta make a hole in the floor, and put all them wires and things in. That’s gonna cost extra. It’s like when we got our well dug. Had to pay the fellas to come out and do all that diggin’. It wasn’t cheap, I tell ya. And you need folks to come and look at it. Make sure its workin’ right. Like when my old radio breaks, need a man to come fix it.

They say there are some good companies in India that make these lifts. Mitsubishi, Hitachi, that’s the name I heard. And Otis, Kone, Schindler. Sounds like a lot. I remember the guy who sold seeds, always yellin’ out names like that. These companies, they make good strong lifts, they say. Important to get a good one, so it doesn’t break down on ya. Don’t want to get stuck halfway up, do ya? That would be a fright! And probably cost a pretty penny to get it fixed, too.

So, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of these home lifts, you better start savin’ your rupees. It ain’t gonna be cheap. But if you need it, you need it. Just like medicine. Costs a lot, but if it keeps you healthy, it’s worth it. Just be sure you get a good one, from a company you can trust. And don’t go buyin’ the fanciest one if you don’t need it.
