Alright, let’s talk about them car lifts, the ones they use in them big shops, you know, the industrial car lift kind. Not the little ones for your garage, no sir. We’re talkin’ the heavy-duty stuff.
First off, there’s different kinds, like them two-post lifts. Easy to get around, good for most fixin’ jobs. Then you got the four-post ones, real sturdy, for big trucks and such. If you need extra parkin’ space, them’s the ones you want. Finally, there’s them scissor lifts, kinda small, for smaller shops and light cars. They go up and down like, well, scissors!
Now, you can’t just slap one of these things anywhere. You need a good, solid floor. They say four inches of that concrete stuff is the least you need, but more is better. Six inches is good, and twelve is even better. You don’t want that thing toppling over, do ya? Heck no! That’d be a mess.
Them scissor lifts, they can go up pretty high. A nineteen-foot one, that’ll cost ya eight to twelve thousand dollars, maybe more. A twenty-six-foot one? Fifteen thousand, easy. The higher it goes, the more it costs. Some of them fancy ones, they can go up to forty-five thousand dollars! Land sakes, that’s a lot of money. But I guess if you got a big shop, you gotta have the right tools, right?

- Four-post lifts: For big trucks, extra parking
- Scissor lifts: Smaller shops, light cars, goes up high
I heard tell of some fellas who’ve been makin’ this kinda stuff since way back when, nineteen twenty-five they say! That’s a long time, even longer than I’ve been around, and that’s sayin’ somethin’. They make all sorts of tools for fixin’ cars, not just lifts. They say their stuff is the best, top-of-the-line you know. Made from real good stuff, not that cheap junk.
Them scissor lifts they make, they’re small and light, but they can lift a whole heap of weight. And they got all sorts of fancy features, not that I understand half of ’em. They use the best stuff they can find to make ’em, so you know they’ll last. Ain’t nobody got time for somethin’ that breaks down all the time.
I saw some fella lookin’ at them car lifts online the other day. Amazon, I think it was. Lots of folks lookin’ at ’em, millions of ’em they say. All sorts of brands, all sorts of prices. It can make your head spin, all that choosin’. But you gotta get what’s right for your shop, your needs you know. Don’t go buyin’ somethin’ that won’t work for ya.
So, if you’re in the market for an industrial car lift, you gotta think about what kind of work you do, how big your shop is, and how much money you got to spend. Do your research, talk to folks who know what they’re talkin’ about. And don’t skimp on quality, that’s what I say. You want somethin’ that’s gonna last, somethin’ that’s gonna get the job done right. After all, time is money, ain’t it?
Safety is real important too. You don’t want that thing fallin’ on nobody, or crushin’ a car. So make sure it’s installed right, and you follow all the instructions. And don’t go tryin’ to lift more than it’s supposed to, that’s just askin’ for trouble. Use your common sense, that’s what the good Lord gave it to ya for.
And that’s about all I know about them industrial car lifts. They’re big, they’re strong, and they cost a pretty penny. But if you got a shop, you probably need one. Just make sure you get the right one for the job.
