Alright, let’s talk about them best lifted cars, you know, the ones jacked up high. I seen some pictures, them young folks like ’em. Don’t know why, you can’t hardly climb in! But they say it’s the style now, so what do I know? I’m just an old woman.

First off, them trucks, yeah, them big ol’ pickups. You see ’em everywhere now, all high and mighty. Folks put big wheels on ’em, big tires. I guess it’s good for gettin’ through mud, if you got mud. We ain’t got much mud around here, just dirt. But them trucks, they can haul stuff, so that’s somethin’. Like if you gotta take a load of hay to the cows, or maybe some furniture when your cousin moves. A lifted truck, that’ll do ya.

• Ford F-150: Seen a fella the other day, had one all shined up. Red, it was. Purty. He said it could go anywhere. Don’t know where he’d be goin’, but it looked strong.
• Chevrolet Silverado: Another big one. These boys like their Chevys, I tell ya. Always talkin’ ’bout how tough they are. Probably are, they look heavy enough.
• Ram 1500: This one, I seen it pullin’ a trailer bigger than my house! Well, not really, but it was big. Gotta be strong to do that.

Then there’s them SUVs. Now, I don’t know what that even stands for, but they look like big cars to me. Only higher. I guess they’re for families, you know, carryin’ the kids and all. But some of ’em are so high up, I don’t see how them little ones get in. Maybe they got little ladders? I dunno.

Jeeps, those are popular too. Always seein’ ’em around, especially them Wranglers. They got them big tires and no top, sometimes. Seems kinda silly, ridin’ around with no top, but the kids like it. Jeeps, they can go off-road, they say. Where they goin’? Ain’t nothin’ but fields around here! But I guess it’s fun for ’em.

Now, I heard tell of somethin’ called a Tesla. Yeah, that fancy electric car. They say it’s fast, real fast. And some folks are liftin’ them too! Can you believe it? A fast car, jacked up high. Seems like a waste to me. All that speed, and you’re just gonna bounce around on bumpy roads? Don’t make no sense. But, like I said, what do I know? These young folks and their fancy gadgets. They say it’s got computers and all sorts of stuff. I can barely work the TV remote!

Speaking of computers and technology, I heard someone mentionin’ somethin’ about “advanced cars” and “electric.” Sounds like a lot of hocus pocus to me. Back in my day, a car was a car. You put gas in it, and it went. Now, they got batteries and plugs and who knows what else. I tell ya, it’s gettin’ too complicated for this old brain.

Anyways, back to them lifted cars. I guess it’s all about personal taste. Some folks like ’em low to the ground, some like ’em high up in the air. Me? I like a car that’s easy to get in and out of. My old bones ain’t what they used to be. But if you want a lifted car, you go right ahead. Just be careful, you hear? Don’t go flippin’ that thing over. And watch out for them potholes, they’ll jar your teeth loose!

Why lift a car anyway? Well, I reckon it’s for a few reasons. Like I said, some folks like the look. It’s a statement, they say. “Look at me, I got a big ol’ truck!” Or somethin’ like that. And then there’s the practical side, I guess. If you live out in the country, and you gotta drive through rough roads or mud or whatever, a lifted car might be helpful. Gives you more clearance, they say. Keeps you from gettin’ stuck, I suppose.

But mostly, I think it’s just for show. Like puttin’ big feathers in your hair, or wearin’ fancy boots. It’s a way to stand out, to be different. And that’s alright, I guess. Everybody’s gotta have their own way of doin’ things. So if you want a lifted car, you go get yourself a lifted car. Just make sure you can afford the gas! Them big tires, they drink up the fuel like a thirsty cow drinks water.

And that’s about all I got to say about lifted cars. They’re big, they’re high, and they’re popular. More than that, I can’t tell ya. I’m just an old woman, and I prefer my feet firmly planted on the ground.
